About Sheldon Lavin

Sheldon Lavin is the Chairman and the President of OSI Group which is a food production and processing Company based in the United States. Mr. Sheldon was born in the year 1932.
He went to Northwestern University and the University of Illinois where he graduated with majors in Finance and Accounting. He went later on and did a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago. With over 15 years experience, Sheldon Lavin owned a financial consulting firm known as Sheldon Lavin and Associates Company that was based in the downtown area of Chicago.

Later on, in 1970, Mr. Lavin started to associate himself with the Otto and Sons Firm who is the predecessor of the OSI Group. Sheldon Lavin is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the OSI Group and affiliate companies which include, OSI Industries, OSI International Foods based in the United States and OSI International. Other Companies are found all over the world, and one of them based in India is known as Vista Processed Food or OSI Vista.

At his time working for the OSI Group, Sheldon Lavin has seen the company grow to become one of the multibillion-dollar Global Food Processing Companies. Sheldon Lavin has been a great leader who has ensured that all the stakeholders in the OSI Group Industry he led are all comfortable and are working to achieve the goals of this firm and attend to the needs of the customers.

The headquarters of OSI Group is found at Aurora, Illinois in the United States of America. By 2014 he had closed Old Bridge Dental Care and went completely in with DSM. He mostly spends his days taking conference calls, planning events and publishing the latest blogs on sleep science, but he also is a philanthropist who donates to other medical causes including Operation Smile, a medical non-profit organization that treats children who have mouth problems.

Born in Ohio, Susan McGalla is one of the most successful businesswomen in the United States. The most notable position she held was the President of American Eagle Outfitters, a company that brings in over $3 billion in revenue every year.

McGalla obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing from the Mount Union College. She joined American Eagle Outfitters in 1994, after leaving her managerial position with Joseph Horne Company, whom she spent 8 years with. Of course, McGalla did not become the president upon entry, but she started working as a divisional merchandise buyer. Hard work and progress of her department helped her move up the chain, and eventually, she became the chief merchandising officer for the entire corporation.

After parting ways with American Eagle, this entrepreneur found her home in Wet Seal, Inc. Working as a CEO of this clothing company enabled McGalla to further expand her resume with another upper-management position.

McGalla has always been aware of gender discrimination in business, as she is one of only a handful female leaders around the nation. Since she grew up with two brothers and a father who was a football coach, she learned how to overcome issues arising from her “gender”. This helped her achieve a great success over a 30-year-long career that is still active.

Besides everything aforementioned, McGalla also worked as Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development for the Pittsburg Steelers, one of the most successful NFL teams ever. This organization has won the most Superbowl rings ever and achieving a high-management position with them put McGalla on a level above all of her competitors in business.

Don Ressler is the co-founder and CEO of Fabletics. He is a renowned entrepreneur with a series of startups to his name. He has been the face behind Intelligent Beauties and all its subsidiaries. Fitnessheave.com was his first startup that was purchased by intermix media in 2001 causing Don Ressler to partner with 19-year-old COO at Intermix, Adam Goldenberg thus forming Alena media. This was an e-commerce and advertising division that generated millions of income and revenue and served as Intermix’s sole profit center. When new corps acquired Intermix in 2005, the two could not stand the media giant ignoring a division they had created hence they decided to leave and try out new opportunities.

The two knew their ability to excel in online advertising. According to eyepain.org they started a company that would create a brand building enterprise whose execution was going to be autonomous. After a session of brainstorming with some of the members of staff they got from Alena, the idea of Intelligent Beauty was born. This was a direct to consumer branding business whose first mandate was coming up with DermStore, which was an online cosmetic and skin care marketplace on apparelnews.net. Two years after that the company launched a weight loss system that included Dr. Hirsch for product development and the CEO Brett Brewer, Intermix founder. The company accepted a funding of 43 million dollars from technology crossover ventures in 2008 as most of their funding was held up.

This was JustFab, which in 2011 received a funding of 33 million dollars from Matrix funding partners. It later acquired FBshoes, which was a fashion e-commerce giant from Europe, and it brought them over 500000 members from France and Spain increasing to the 1.5 million members from Germany and UK thus totaling to 3million members in Europe. After another funding of 40 million, Justfab launched Fabletics, which was an athletics, Wear Corporation formed by Kate Hudson.
