Willies Tower Watson, a global leader in advisory, broking, and solutions firm recently named Michael Burwell as the corporation’s new Chief Finance Officer. Mike replaced Roger Millay, the former Chief Finance Officer when he retired voluntarily on 2nd October 2017.
Mr Burwell has approximately 31 years of experience in both professional and financial services from Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (PwC). He has served in many top leadership positions for the last ten years, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in the USA; Head of Global Transformation as well as headed the Transaction Services in the US. Furthermore, he has 12 years of experience in Transaction Services advisory and 11 years of experience in auditing, including assisting businesses with valuations and mergers.

Before this new position at Willis Towers Watson, Mike Burwell spent about 31 years serving at PwC. During his tenure at PwC, he worked on the business advisory services in the assurance practice for 11 years. Before that, he served as the Leader of Transaction Services for Automotive Industry practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) US. In 1997, Mike was elected as a partner and transferred to the PwC’s Detroit transaction business. He was later requested to take up the leadership position of the central US transaction business at PwC due to his accomplishments in Detroit. Mike was also the Central Region Transaction Services Leader for PwC US before becoming the Transaction Services Leader for the PwC US Automotive Industry practice.
Michael Burwell later got an appointment as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of PwC’s US business. He also became the Vice Chairman of U.S and Global Transformation in 2012, where he assisted in creating and extending the internal shared services of PwC. Mike Burwell is a certified public accountant and also holds a business administration degree from the Michigan State University. In 2010, Michigan State University honored Mike as the Alumnus of the year.
